Every musician knows an accurate chromatic tuner is an absolutely essential piece of gear. And tuning accoustic and electric instruments has never been easier. Tuner allows you to tune any note with amazing accuracy using the built-in mic on your device.

Whether you want to tune guitar strings to a different pitch or tune a particular note on any instrument, you’ll be an expert in a matter of minutes. Tune any acoustic or electric instrument - guitar, bass, bowed strings, woodwinds, brass, piano and any other instrument that can sustain a tone.

In addition to visual tuning via meter, the integrated tone generator can generate a reference tone of any note if you prefer tuning by ear.

The Metronome will help you with a visual and audible beat indicator to play at a steady tempo. You can select tempo and time signature per your specs.

Tuner includes built-in support for custom transposition and notations, configured for your choice 8 notations, including English, Solfège, French, Spanish or European.

A Full Array of Advanced Features:

• Chromatic instrument tuner and pitch pipe
• Wide range of ultra responsive real time pitch detection, covering C1-C8 ranges
• LCD needle-type meter with accuracy of ±1/100 semitone (±1 cent) for ultra-precise tuning

Funktioniert wunderbar.
Tuner OK
For the price this was useful for me to smarten up the tuning on two old pianos I have. The lower and higher registers do not respond at all however. That might just be a limitation of the audio pick-up on the iphone. In the mid ranges its not bad but does seem to get confused be the lingering harmonics as a note decays. Maybe thats normal with these tuners. I have not tried another tuner.
Works when in range, and when a pianos strings are close enough together in pitch
First, compared to the other piano tuning app for 299, this one is a bargain, so I cant expect the same level, but when the piano was above E2, it would work fairly accurately (enough so that my ear didnt complain). Below E2, though, it couldnt register notes at all. Also, since the app is more likely geared for guitar than piano, it can have problems identifying the pitch and amount off when more than one string is used. That isnt always a problem, since the ear can usually tell the difference, but it is an important caveat. Finally the tone could use a lot of work; Im sure it is in tune, but a pure sine wave is impossible to tune by (especially when low). I suggest at least a guitar or harpsichord sound to aid in determination of pitch. Overall, it is a nice, functional app with a few caveats that would help raise the number of stars if dealt with. But since it spared me the cost of a piano tuner app and a call to a piano tuner, I cant complain much.
Slow tuning, quiet tone
The needle doesnt seem to move very smoothly at all, making it hard to center. The audible tone is a great idea, but the speaker on my iPhone 4 barely played the F4 at all. Needs a more efficient algorithm in both cases, then it would be worth it.
